Mckenzie Lake: The neighborhood with man-made lakes and green space for families who want to have more fun.

Lots of people dream about owning a water front property. They want to be able to throw open the doors in the morning and see the sun sparkling on the water. They want to sail in the wind or go for a swim on a whim. And Canadians often think they need a second him in some cottage country to make this happen. However, the man-made lakes in McKenzie Lake have made this a reality for Calgarians who want to be in a big city and on a lake.

Many of the homes in Mckenzie Lake are bordering on the water.

Your back yard could quite literally be a lake. Not only could you avoid mowing the lawn, but you’d be a stones throw away from one of SE Calgary’s most beautiful bodies of water. Certain properties enjoy private access to the waterfront making this an extremely attractive neighbourhood to live in for those who enjoy exclusivity. And even if your home isn’t on the water it is still within reach of the lake. The neighbourhood has many paths and trails that grant access to green space if you’re feeling up for an adventure.

There are lots of fun activities for you and the family in McKenzie.

You can rest assured that no one will be getting bored when living on McKenzie Lake. Among some of the great family-friendly activities you can enjoy include swimming, kayaking, fishing, chilling on the beach, or nearly every other water related activity you can think of. This exclusive man-made lake was constructed with you in mind.

Even in the winter months, families can meet up at the Mckenzie Towne Hall for a variety of indoor activities like indoor ice-skating. And at certain times, if the conditions are just right, people can be found skating on the lake itself.

The surrounding McKenzie is gorgeous too. SE Calgary enjoys a lush natural environment and affords plenty of green space for you to explore. The neighbourhood itself is minutes away from Fish Creek Provincial park. Through it runs the Bow River, which also happens to border on the McKenzie Meadows Golf Club.

But like I said, the lake itself was made for the people of the community and all of that water makes this community a fine choice for a family. If you’re ever thinking of living the dream that is having a house on the water, you can give me, SE Calgary REALTOR® Greg Kennedy a call and I’ll be happy to help you make it happen.
