Mahogany is a newer neighbourhood but that doesn’t stop it from being one of the prized places to live in SE Calgary. The neighbourhood is popular amongst everyone from new families to empty nesters and for a good number of reasons. In this article I’m going to highlight just five of those reasons as to why people are buying homes here. 

 

1. Breathtaking Properties

There are several styles of homes that Calgary homebuyers can choose from when settling down in Mahogany. Certain properties are built on what are known as Residential Islands. These man-made islands offer privacy and are designed to make you feel like you’re at the cottage. Seeing as they’re only accessible by private road, you might as well be! 

 

The homes along the Boulevard are more comparable to a traditional suburban home with the only difference being that you’re only minutes away from Mahogany Lake and the beach. But some of the most coveted homes are the luxury homes for sale on the Reserve. These lakefront properties are mansions that tend to attract well-heeled homebuyers.

 

 

2. Great Recreation

Mahogany is an amazing place to be in the summertime. It boasts 63 acres of paradise known as Mahogany Lake and it’s also Calgary’s largest freshwater lake. Imagine yourself living only minutes away from the water and being able to hop in a canoe, or sun yourself on the beach as if you were on vacation whenever you like. The neighbourhood is pretty new but it’s already showing promise as a staycation destination. 

 

Outdoor lovers will enjoy the wetlands that surround the community whether it be for a jog, a bike ride, or to walk the dog. The area is essential to the local wildlife so don’t be startled if you stumble upon a critter or two on your adventures! 

 

 

3. The shops have what you need

The Urban Village planned for Mahogany will come complete with boutiques, shops, and restaurants. It promises to have something for everyone in the family. Whether you’re simply grabbing a coffee or treating someone to a special dinner, you’ll be in good hands. 

 

Until the Urban Village arrives you can get what you need at either the Cranston Market, Seton’s shopping district, or at McKenzie Towne’s High Street. You’ll also be glad to know that the newly built South Health Campus is minutes away should you require medical attention. 

 

4. Give the kids a good education

While Mahogany has already planned to embed two schools in the heart of the community, parents can send their kids to a variety of schools in neighbouring SE Calgary communities that aren’t too far of from home.

5. It's brand new!

SE Calgary is currently undergoing a spectacular transformation and Mahogany is right at the heart of it! The SE Calgary area caters to so many different types of lifestyles and it will continue to as the neighbourhoods within it grow and the entire community prospers.

 

Now is really the time to really think about moving to this neighbourhood. With so many of the lots being pre-sold, it’s a good idea to secure your spot in this growing luxury community today. One thing I know for sure is that the prices are only going to go up when people come to realize how spectacular this place is to live in!
